ABSTRACT Though, the Internet is a commonplace communication facility in different parts of the world, its discovery and widespread usage is a very recent event. The access to the use of the internet as a medium of communication diffused widely and swiftly across the globe. The internet is mostly popular am on students and influences them in so many ways. The aim of this research project is to investigate the sociological assessment of internet usage among students of Kaduna State University Main Campus. Relevant literatures were reviewed with the intention of critically analyzing literature of other authors on the issue of sociological assessment of internet usage among students Simple random sampling technique was used in selecting respondents and purpose sampling was used in the in-depth interview. Findings revealed that a vast majority of Kaduna State University students are computer and internet users and they made use of it everyday mainly for assignments. Findings also revealed that the use of the internet cost the students financially. Therefore, a major solution to the problem arising from internet usage could be solved by making internet services available.
